Touch Blues

These are some interesting comments by Apple's Greg Joswiak on the Apple "Touch" iPod. I've pulled out my favorite:

The iPod Touch does not have Bluetooth. Any images on the Internet that may have implied that it did were errors, Joswiak said.

My take is that we're supposed to read into the complete lack of a microphone, audio input and/or bluetooth as: we will absolutely positively not make it easy for the Touch to run a hacked version of Skype. Which is too bad really, it's the Touch's killer app.

On the other hand the article hints that the iPhone and the Touch underlying system and CPU will be the same. And it outlines Apple's neutral stance towards third-party application which is pretty much what we all expected. (via Daring Fireball)
