Smart Limits

This is what I love about the Telecom giants: AT&T to charge customers $4.99/month for a feature called "Smart Limits" so they can establish limits on their accounts and stop their kids from running up the bill. Why isn't this a standard feature? (Wired via RSS)

Update: Oh it just gets funnier. Apparently the parental controls "blocked calls" feature will also block 911 operators who are trying to reconnect with a caller if they got cut off. Oops. The feature has been disabled until fixed. (via Computerworld).
