Irrational Drivers

I've never understood why so many drivers hate cyclists. I keep daydreaming that someday someone will pull up along side of me, lean out and offer me a doughnut instead of flipping me off. And why wouldn't they offer me a doughnut?

Think about it. The more cyclists there are the less demand there is for gas. With less demand, so the theory goes, gas gets cheaper, not more expensive. And cyclists are not allowed on the freeway at all, and take up only a fraction of the space on a secondary street that they do when driving. Would you rather have every cyclist in their car adding to the gridlock?

I just don't get it. It's irrational. By the way, I've got a weakness for bearclaws. Thanks.
